Welcome to Hatton of Fintray Primary School
The village of Hatton of Fintray lies approximately 7 km North West of Dyce. It is a growing community comprising mainly of workers commuting to Aberdeen.
The school is co-educational and non-denominational and is one of nine primary schools that are linked to Inverurie Academy. There is a strong sense of community as is shown in the various associations, clubs and community groups in the area.
The original school building was constructed in the late 19th century, with two classrooms and a hall, which also serves as a general purpose area, library and dining area. Due to an increase in roll, a portacabin was installed in 1992, making a third classroom.
The school has a tarmac play area at the back featuring colourful playground games and a decorated shelter. There is a further playing area for team games and sports. The children also have a trim trail in this section. Various items of play equipment are available to enhance playtimes and lunchtimes and pupils also have access to the garden area which features a wildlife garden and bird feeding station. Pupils, staff and parents work together to develop and maintain the outside space at Hatton of Fintray School. The playground and local area are used regularly to enhance learning and teaching.
